Standard Fees
Introductory 1 Hour Lesson - £10.50
(for beginners)
Standard Lesson - £21.95 per hour
Block Payment - £209.50 for 10 hours (paid in advance)

The Practical Test
On the day of the practical test: £65.85
(Includes hire of Training Car for driving test).
The routine includes a pre-test practice, then reporting to the test centre, from where you go out with the driving examiner, and myself if you want me to go with you; you take the test in the training car and, at the end of the test, you return to the vicinity of the test centre, where the examiner gives you the result and debriefs you, and then I take you home, and all of which takes between two and three hours to complete.
Fees & Appointments
Payments - Fees are payable, in advance, by way of cash or cheque at the first appointment, the fees for that and the next appointment are then payable.
Make cheques payable to Alan Pontet - please write your card number and expiry date onthe back, please write cheques out in advance - otherwise they have to be written during lesson time.
If you pay by cash, change is normally available, otherwise, you might be asked to carry over some of the balance to your next appointment. Due to counterfeits and their high quality, please do not tender £50 notes.
Alan Pontet does not offer to take payment by credit or debit card because the card suppliers charge a fee for the facility, and this would have to be added to the lesson fee.
This fee structure endures for the duration of your training, however long that might take,
however, an absence of more than six months terminates your training agreement.
Cancellations - 24hrs notice is required for changes or cancellations, excluding public holidays, otherwise the full fee is payable unless your instructor, who takes a flexible approach, decides otherwise.
Non-attendance constitutes a late cancellation. Whilst using discretion, Alan Pontet is not responsible for fees lost due to sickness, public transport delays or other causes of late cancellations. If Alan Pontet cancels your appointments, you shall not be charged.
Appointment Times - Appointments are not guaranteed - nor is their start time. For operational reasons, Alan Pontet exercises flexibility with the appointments regime, and you will receive the fullness of the hours for which you have paid.
If Alan Pontet has not arrived by the start time, this might be due to traffic delays or the previous appointment over-running.
Lessons fees are not subject to VAT.
